Research Methodology

Performer information is often scattered across usernames, platforms, social accounts, interviews and years of changing online identities. This page explains how LustIcons researches those pieces and decides what is reliable enough to include in a performer profile.

Last updated: September 25, 2026

The short version

LustIcons researches publicly available information about adult performers and creators.

We compare multiple signals before connecting aliases, accounts or other information to the same performer. A matching username by itself is not always enough.

When something cannot be established with reasonable confidence, we prefer leaving the information incomplete rather than filling the gap with a guess.

Our basic principle

Research can be complicated. The finished profile should not be.

The work behind a performer profile may involve many websites, usernames, aliases and conflicting clues.

Our job is to do that work behind the scenes and present visitors with a profile that is clear, organized and useful without pretending that uncertain information is certain.

Section 01

What we research

LustIcons researches information that helps visitors understand a performer’s public online identity.

Depending on what can be established publicly, a profile may include:

  • the performer’s primary public or stage name;
  • known aliases and previous usernames;
  • creator and performer-platform profiles;
  • public social-media accounts;
  • official websites or link pages;
  • platforms where the performer has a documented public presence;
  • publicly available biographical information;
  • languages or countries publicly associated with the performer;
  • interviews and media mentions;
  • publicly documented productions or appearances;
  • awards where they can be reliably established; and
  • other useful public connections relevant to the performer.

Not every performer profile will contain every type of information.

Section 02

Public sources we may use

The research process may involve several types of publicly accessible sources.

Performer and creator platforms Public profiles on creator, subscription, cam and performer platforms.
Social accounts Public profiles on social networks and other community platforms.
Official websites Personal websites, official landing pages and public link hubs.
Interviews and articles Published interviews, media coverage and relevant editorial references.
Public entertainment sources Public performer pages, credits, awards, appearances and related industry information.
Cross-references Public links or references from one account to another that help establish identity connections.

Being publicly accessible does not automatically make a source correct. Public information is evidence to evaluate, not something we automatically copy into a profile.

Section 03

How a performer profile is researched

Research usually starts with a performer name or username and expands outward from there.

1

Start with the known identity

We begin with the performer name, username or public profile that prompted the research.

2

Search broadly

We look for relevant public accounts, platforms, aliases, websites, interviews, articles and other references.

3

Compare the connections

Usernames, photographs, public links, profile descriptions, references and other signals are compared to determine which accounts and identities genuinely appear connected.

4

Separate strong evidence from uncertain clues

Information that cannot be connected confidently may be excluded rather than presented as fact.

5

Organize the result

Verified or reasonably supported information is organized into a structured LustIcons performer profile.

Section 04

How we connect identities and accounts

This is one of the most important parts of the LustIcons research process.

The same performer may appear under different names or usernames on different websites, while completely unrelated people may use similar names.

We therefore look for multiple supporting signals such as:

  • one public account directly linking to another;
  • matching or strongly related usernames;
  • consistent public photographs or appearance;
  • matching profile information;
  • references to the same alias on multiple sources;
  • official websites or link pages connecting accounts;
  • public statements connecting one identity to another; and
  • other contextual evidence that reasonably supports the connection.
Important

A matching username alone is not always enough.

Where the evidence is too weak or conflicting, we may leave the account unconnected rather than risk associating the wrong person with a performer profile.

Section 05

Primary names and aliases

Performers may use several stage names, usernames or aliases over time.

When multiple identities can reasonably be connected to the same performer, LustIcons may list them together.

We generally use as the main profile name the identity that appears to be the performer’s most established or widely recognized public name.

Other reliably connected names may be preserved as aliases so visitors searching an older or alternative name can still understand the relationship.

An alias is not added simply because two names look similar.

Section 06

When sources disagree

Public sources sometimes contradict one another.

One website may list one country while another lists something different. An old biography may conflict with a newer profile. A username may have changed ownership or an older account may no longer be maintained.

When information conflicts, we may consider:

  • how directly the source is connected to the performer;
  • whether the information is current;
  • whether multiple independent sources agree;
  • whether the performer has stated the information directly;
  • whether an older source appears to have become outdated; and
  • whether the available evidence is strong enough to publish at all.

When the conflict cannot be resolved responsibly, leaving the field blank can be more accurate than choosing one answer simply because a website published it.

Section 07

Why some information is missing

A LustIcons profile does not need every possible field filled in to be useful.

Information may be absent because:

  • the performer has not made it publicly available;
  • available sources conflict;
  • the information cannot be verified with reasonable confidence;
  • the detail does not appear relevant to the profile;
  • a source has disappeared or become inaccessible; or
  • the profile has not yet completed a later research refresh.

We consider an honest gap preferable to a confident-looking guess.

Section 08

Profile images

When possible, LustIcons attempts to use a clear public image that can be reasonably attributed to the performer.

Images are primarily used to help visitors recognize and distinguish performers within the directory.

Where an appropriate and sufficiently reliable image cannot be found, LustIcons may use a category-specific or generic placeholder rather than attach an uncertain photograph to the wrong person.

If an image has been incorrectly attributed, or if there is another legitimate concern about an image, it can be reported through our Content Removal & Review process.

Copyright-specific image complaints should follow our DMCA & Copyright Policy.

Section 09

Platforms and external links

A major purpose of LustIcons is helping visitors understand where a performer has a documented public presence.

External links may therefore point to:

  • creator or subscription platforms;
  • cam platforms;
  • social networks;
  • official websites;
  • public performer pages;
  • interviews or articles; and
  • other relevant public destinations.

We try to associate links with the correct performer, but external accounts can later be renamed, deleted, suspended, made private or otherwise changed by third parties.

Section 10

Biographical and descriptive information

Biographical details are included only when they appear relevant and can be reasonably supported by public information.

LustIcons does not try to fill performer profiles with unnecessary personal information simply because it can be found somewhere online.

We aim to focus on information useful for understanding the performer’s public identity, work and online presence.

The existence of information somewhere on the public web does not automatically mean that LustIcons needs to reproduce it.

Section 11

Research freshness and updates

Performer information changes.

New accounts appear. Old accounts disappear. Performers change names. Platforms close. Links move. Information that was accurate at the time of research may later become outdated.

LustIcons therefore treats research as an ongoing process.

Profiles may be reviewed again when:

  • new reliable information becomes available;
  • an external link stops working;
  • a correction is reported;
  • an identity connection needs re-evaluation;
  • the profile reaches an internal research-review point; or
  • other maintenance signals indicate that another review would be useful.

A profile should become more useful as better information becomes available.

Section 12

Corrections and mistakes

Careful research reduces mistakes, but it cannot eliminate them completely.

If a performer, visitor or other affected person identifies information that appears incorrect, outdated or wrongly attributed, we want to know about it.

Corrections may involve matters such as:

  • incorrect aliases;
  • wrong social or platform accounts;
  • mistaken identity;
  • outdated external links;
  • incorrect biographical details;
  • incorrectly attributed photographs; or
  • other factual errors.

Our separate Corrections Policy explains this process in more detail.

Content removal, privacy or safety concerns may also be submitted through our Content Removal & Review Requests page.

Section 13

Editorial independence and affiliate relationships

LustIcons may participate in affiliate programs with some external platforms.

Affiliate eligibility does not determine:

  • whether a performer receives a profile;
  • whether a platform is included in the research;
  • which aliases are recorded;
  • which accounts are connected to a performer;
  • what factual information is included; or
  • whether a platform is discussed favorably.

A platform may be included because it is relevant to the performer’s public identity even when LustIcons has no commercial relationship with it.

More information is available in our Affiliate Disclosure.

Section 14

Limitations of public-web research

Public-web research has unavoidable limitations.

Accounts can be deleted or made private. Older pages can disappear. Search engines do not surface everything. Public information may be incorrect. A performer may intentionally use different identities in different places.

LustIcons therefore does not claim that every profile is complete or permanently current.

Our standard

The objective is not to claim perfect knowledge.

The objective is to research carefully, distinguish stronger evidence from weaker clues, avoid unnecessary assumptions, and improve profiles when better information becomes available.
